Annita Koke was born on November 4, 1928 in Woodson, Texas to E.L. and Amy Jernigan. She moved to Wickett, Texas in the third grade. Annita graduated from Monahans High School in 1946. After graduation, she went to Draughn's Business School in Lubbock, where she studied bookkeeping. She met the love of her life and married Walter A. "Bo" Koke on June 16, 1951. They had many happy years together and had been married 59 years when he passed away on July 28, 2010.
Survivors include her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including her son, Al and his wife Brenda of Allen; a grandson, Brandon, and his wife Ambyr, and their two daughters, Savanna and Emersyn, of Boerne; a granddaughter, Courtney Broekemeier and her husband, Scott, their son, Blake, and daughter, Sloan, of Dallas. Annita also has a daughter, Debra Koke of Grand Prairie, and she is also survived by an aunt, Nell Cain of Weatherford, numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
Annita was 94 years old and greatly loved by many. She will be missed.
Funeral services are being handled by Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans. Visitation will be on Friday, February 17th, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Services for Annita Koke will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Third and Dwight Church of Christ, in Monahans, Texas where she was a faithful member for many years until she moved away in 2010.
