Azelyn "Azey" Nichol Taylor danced her way into the Lord's arms on April 27, 2025, at 16 years old surrounded by family and community. She was born on January 6, 2009, in Midland, Texas. She was an adored daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She was a sophomore at Monahans High School. She enjoyed cosmetology, volleyball, track, and softball. She was excited and proud to be accepted into the Odessa College-Monahans Dual Credit Licensed Vocational Nursing Program.
Azelyn was baptized on October 25, 2015, at 6 years old. She enjoyed fellowship and laughing with her friends at Monahans Community Church.
Our beautiful princess was a brilliant and selfless soul who always poured out endless love and laughter. She was always sure to voice her opinions with straight sass. Daddy's girl to the core and Mom's whole world. She has her dad's witty personality and always wanted to make you laugh. She had her mom's love for clothes and shoes, if you love it, you should have it in every color.
Azelyn loved jamming to music as loud as she could. She loved her brothers, cousins, and friends with her whole heart, but no one else mattered if there was a baby nearby. She loved playing mama to all the littles. One summer her mom walked into her room, and she said "shh.. the baby is asleep” her mom didn't know where the baby came from; she had snuck down the street and borrowed the neighbor's baby.
Azey shared a special bond with her brothers, Casen (no, they were not Irish twins) and Court. Her brothers will always remember her as beautiful, caring, loving, bold, sassy, funny, bossy, artistic, and weird in her own way. Her cousins have described her personality as sassy, gorgeous, lovable, beautiful, kind, touching, loving, cuddly, bubbly, charismatic, goofy, giggly, confident, caring, kind-hearted, and sweet.
Those who knew her and loved her saw her full personality. There is no question she was definitely strong-willed.
Azelyn is survived by her loving parents, Casey Dale Taylor and Kara Nichol Taylor; brothers Casen and Court Taylor; great-grandparents, Carolyn "Mema" Touchstone-Darden, and Maile "Gran" Weeks; grandparents, Dale "Big Daddy “and Virginia "Gran" Taylor, Laurie "Nana" Hall, Billy "papa" and Bonnie "Mema" Smith, Karen "Grammie" and John "Poppy" Tiemann, Cathy "Marmee” and Rick "Pappy" Gonzalez, and Wendel Kovar; great aunts and uncles, Sheila and Toby Saenz, Sherri and Bobby Jarrett, and Hagan Weeks; aunts and uncles, Jackie and Carlos Gonzalez, Jessica and Johnny Barrioz, Cole Gonzalez, Jackson Grist, Kyle Smith and Michelle DeGreolami, Garrett and Kaitlyn Hall, Kursten and Daniel Robertson, Sam Utah Gonzalez, and Jean Kovar; cousins Michael, Josalyn, Mikela, Jaicie, Kylee, Erin, Weston, Jainey, Leighton, Oren, Carlos, Elijah, Braxton, Hannah, Blakely, Kael, Emma, William "wiggles", Oliver, Amelia Alivia, Greyson, Kyler, and Joshua.
