Catarina Campos

Catarina S. Campos, age 101, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was born on March 5, 1924, in San Vicente, Texas, to Vicente Santiago and Angela Rodriguez.

Catarina lived a long and fulfilling life, grounded in faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering kindness touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Campos and sons Enrique Campos and Ramon Campos.

Catarina is survived by her daughters, Leanor Carnero of Monahans Texas, Jesusita Tarin of Hobbs New Mexico, Petronila Carrasco of Mt. Pleasant Texas. Her son, Enrique Compos Jr. of Hobbs New Mexico. Her 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 50 great-great grandchildren, 4 great-great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church. Catarina will be laid to rest following the service at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls, Texas.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support during this time. Catarina’s legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
