David Nunez

April 27, 1963 — August 8, 2025

Monahans

David Nunez, 62, from Monahans, went on to join our heavenly father August 8, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. He was born in Stanton, Texas to Librado and Faustina Nunez on April 27, 1963.

David grew up in Mesa, Arizona, attended school there, and after graduation, he moved to Monahans, and started out as a roustabout. He mostly worked in the oilfield, ending up as a Safety Training Coordinator until he retired. He married Carol in 1983, it truly was “love at first sight,” after having his 2 sons, he was very involved in soccer coaching and baseball coaching.

David was a dog lover to a fault; Molly, Sadie, Boomer, Cali, Bowser, and Pudge are all over him, no doubt.

David was an extremely hard worker, an excellent provider; family was his life.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Cornerstone Church in Monahans, Texas, with Pastor Stan Huffty officiating.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Librado; his brother, Jerry; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol Oyerbides Nunez; sons, David Lee (Monique), and Ezekiel (Daniela); his grandson, Coby Sean Nunez; his mother, Faustina; his brothers, Manuel, Tony (Angela), Ray (Rosie), Ben; his sisters, Alisa (Valentin), Alice (Jimmy), Avelina (David), Angie (Arthur), and Anna; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the Emergency Room Staff and the ICU staff in Monahans, and both hospitals in Odessa; they are the greatest angels, pure angels.

We will miss him immensely, but he is whole now and healthy, with those who have gone before him, in great company with Jesus, too!
