Dixie Ann Light, 77, of Monahans, passed away on February 27, 2026 in Odessa.
Visitation will be 9 am - 11 am on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Dixie was born in Stamford, Texas, to Keith and Lola Carnes on January 24, 1949. She went to school in Grandfalls. She married the love of her life, Chris Allen Light, on March 13, 1998.
She worked as a secretary in various fields, retiring at her favorite Brantley Trucking. Her favorite things to do were gamble, cook, play solitaire, and spend time her family. She loved being a Nanny, so much that she was known as Nanny to many.
Dixie is preceded in death by parents, Keith and Lola Carnes; sisters, Shirley Turner and Jane Ulrich. Dixie is survived by husband, Chris Light; daughter, Lisa and husband Walter Clower; brothers, Mike Carnes and Tony Carnes; grandchildren, Amanda McKelvey, Stephanie and DJ Stueart, Taylor Clower and Richard Higginbotham, Amy McDaniel; great grandchildren Calena Stueart, Trent Fritsche, Alexandria, Aurora, and Chesley McDaniel.
Pallbearers will be Charlie, David, Mark, and Matthew Ulrich, Chris Carnes, and Michael Shawn New.
The family of Dixie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Thaung, Ward Memorial Hospital, and Medical Center Hospital and numerous family and friends for your support.
