On August 11, 2022, at 11:28 P.M. Earnest Millard Sr. passed from this life at Odessa Medical Center Hospital due to Covid pneumonia. He was born to Mary Caddell and Samuel Millard on July 27, 1935, in Jacksonville, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Wickett, Texas, since the mid 70’s.
Earnest loved his family very much and loved hanging out with them and his siblings. He loved camping, playing cards and dominoes when he was not tinkering with something around the house. All though he only had a third-grade level education he had many occupations. He was a carpenter, a mechanic, and went on to be a welder for Century Trailers for 30 plus years building stock trailers.
Earnest is preceded in death by his daughter Twila Scroggins, mother Mary Caddell, father Samuel Millard, sisters Peggy Weaver, Hazel Blackmon, Louis Mackey, Louise Olinick, and Virginia Sewell, and brothers William Millard, Robert Millard, Duke Kelly, and Bobby Kelly.
He is survived by his sons Michael Millard of Springfield, Ohio, and Earnest Millard Jr. of Wickett, Texas, daughter Cheryl Page and husband Dennis Page of Big Spring, Texas, ex Frances Millard of Big Spring, Texas, and nine grandchildren Tanya and Rick Cameron, Daniel Scroggins, Bryan and Linda Scroggins, Timothy Poor, Jeffrey and Rhea Poor, Crystal and Jon Black, Darren Millard, Colton Millard, and Kenneth Millard, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Buster Kelly, William Sewell, Austin Millard, Jerry Blackmon, Mark Novian, and Jamie Millard.
