Elias C. (Lee) Ornelas, Sr., 73, passed away at home on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Elias was born on September 17, 1948 in Monahans to Tomas Ornelas, Jr. And Magdalena (Carrasco) Ornelas.
Elias was a very kindhearted man, would help anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends, and everyone that knew Elias (Lee) can tell you that he joked about everything always trying to make everyone laugh. He attended Grandfalls-Royalty ISD. He married the love of his life Sally (Silvas) Ornelas in October 13, 1966 they were married for 44 years. Elias worked as an electrician at Star Electric in Wickett for many years, then went to work for Clark Electric also in Wickett, to a backhoe operator for Flint and M & M Construction and for the last 8 years he was a driver for Compressor Elements.
Elias is preceded in death by his wife Sally Ornelas, father Tomas Ornelas, Jr., mother Magdalena (Carrasco) Ornelas, sister Helen (Ornelas) Nunez, brother Edward C. Ornelas, and grandson Santiago Armendariz.
Elias is survived by daughter Delma Ornelas of Monahans, daughter Annabelle Doran husband (Casey) of Weatherford, son Elias (Lee) Ornelas, Jr of Odessa, and daughter Kristi Ornelas of Wickett.
Elias had four grandson Matthew Ornelas of Monahans, Nathan Ornelas and Derek Ornelas of Odessa, and Mason Doran of Weatherford. He also had one Great-granddaughter that the minute she was born had won his heart over and she knew how to get her way with her “Randpa” Jaylin Marie Ornelas of Monahans.
