Francisco O. Navarrete

August 8, 1944 — September 4, 2025

Monahans TX

There are men whose lives become a story passed down through generations—stories of resilience, love, and strength. Francisco Navarrete lived such a story, one that his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry forward with pride. The land knew his footsteps, the horses knew his hands, and his family knew his heart. To know him was to know love, strength, and true selflessness.

A cowboy true and true, he carried within him the grit of the land, the discipline of honest labor, and a heart that never stopped giving. A man whose strength, humility, and devotion shaped the lives of all who were blessed to know him. He left this world as he lived in it—steadfast, hardworking, and surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Coyame, Chihuahua, Francisco carried within him the enduring spirit of his homeland. He was a cowboy through and through, a man whose hands bore the marks of honest labor, and whose heart was devoted to his family. Ranching, horses, and even the work of running his windmill company all bore witness to his relentless drive and unshakable belief that hard work pays off.

He instilled this belief in his daughters, raising them to be strong, independent women who carry his lessons forward in every step they take. Yet his proudest role was not just that of father, but of grandfather and great-grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy than time spent with his grandchildren—whether it was a lunch outing, a simple adventure, or just sitting together, savoring the beauty of being in each other’s company. They were his pride, his joy, and his truest accomplishment.

Though his love for his own family was boundless, it did not stop there. Francisco had a rare gift: he loved all children, whether connected by blood or by heart. He welcomed them, protected them, and cherished them, embodying a selfless spirit that touched countless young lives.

A devoted husband, Francisco shared 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margarita Navarrete. Together they built a family, a home, and a legacy rooted in faith, hard work, and devotion. In his community, he was known as a man of character—selfless, dependable, and profoundly respected. His legacy is one of love and labor, of resilience and generosity. His memory will forever be a guiding star: a reminder that true wealth is measured not by what we hold, but by what we give.

Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Rita Navarrete; his siblings, Antonio, Saul, and Romelia; and his beloved grandchildren, Dominique Baeza and Maria Acosta.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margarita Navarrete; his daughters, Margarita Navarrete, Kristi Navarrete (Ramon), Mayra Acosta (Erik), and Mitzi Navarrete. He also leaves behind his nephews and niece who were like his own children: Martin Marquez (Yolanda), Moy Marquez (Kristeena), Mauricio Marquez (Crystal), Silvano Navarrete (Dioscelina), and Rita Navarrete. His legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry a part of his love and lessons within them.

As we bid farewell to Francisco, we honor the cowboy he was, the family man he became, and the inspiration he will always remain. His story is not only written in the land he worked or the animals he loved, but in the hearts of his family, his community, and the generations who will carry his lessons forward.

The burial will take place in Coyame, Chihuahua, a place he dearly loved, at a later date.
