Gail Wolfe passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Odessa, Texas. The Celebration Memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, Texas. This would have been the 65th wedding anniversary of Gail and her husband, Charles Wolfe.
Gail Wolfe was born May 14, 1936, in Albany, Texas, to Bryson P. McNeely and Creola L Bivins. She lived throughout west Texas - including Cheyenne Draw, where she had many fond memories, one being the first family to have electricity in their home. Her family later moved to Monahans, Texas, in 1952, where she attended Monahans High School, graduating in 1954.
A little-known fact about Gail is after graduating from Monahans High School, Gail was recruited by the FBI. Instead, Gail chose to attend business school in Abilene, Texas.
After business school, Gail worked as a bookkeeper for True Strong Construction. She later took a position with Sid Richardson Oil Company, bringing her back to Monahans, Texas. In June 1957, Gail met Charles Wolfe at Casey's drive-in. After a quick courtship, she married Charles in January 1958. They spent 54 years raising four children.
Gail joined her husband and father-in-law as a bookkeeper at the family-owned Wolfe and Son Automotive. She later began her career in education and spent over 30 years inspiring young minds.
As a mother to four, Gail went above and beyond to ensure her children had everything they needed. As Granny to 12 grandchildren - Gail was a master at making her grandchildren's world magical through imagination.
Always on the move, Gail enjoyed shopping and traveling, but her favorite thing was being surrounded by her family.
She will always be remembered for her kind heart, bright smile, and giving spirit.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents, Bryson P. McNeely and Creola L Bivins. Her husband, Charles Wolfe. Her sister Shelby Jean Jeffords and brother Tommy "Mac" McNeely.
