Gloria Hokerk

Gloria June Hokerk, 75, of Monahans, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Gloria was born and raised in Monahans, Texas. She graduated from Monahans High School in 1962. She also graduated from Commercial Business College and worked as an assistant bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed watching movies, reading a good book, playing card games, and watching her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, play football. She loved listening to country music, especially George Strait and Garth Brooks. She also loved going to rodeos, country concerts, and dancing. But what she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt Lee Lochabay Jr. and Billie Pauline Lough; her brother Wyatt Lee Lochabay III, and her beloved dog Lucy. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary Lee Hokerk; her sister, Betty Poor of Lakehills, TX; her son Michael Hokerk and wife Yolanda of Monahans, TX; her daughter Lisa Hayes and husband Bryan of Midland, TX , and her daughter Paula Hokerk and life partner Daniel Wetzig of Monahans, TX.; Granddaughter Stephanie Hayes of Midland, TX; Grandson Justin Hayes and wife Lauren of San Angelo, TX; and her precious great grandson Thomas Hayes of San Angelo, TX. Viewing will be held at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, TX on Sunday, April 21, 2019 from 12-6pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Pavilion located at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Annie Martinez of Monahans Christian Assembly officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or any charity of your choice.
