Hassel Hawkins

July 16, 1926 — February 20, 2018

Hassel B. Hawkins, 91, passed away February 20, 2018 in Odessa, Texas. He was born on July 16, 1926 to Virgil L. Hawkins and wife Elizabeth G. in Marietta, Texas. Hassel married the love of his life Eloise Ezell on November 22, 1951 in Odessa, Texas.

Hassel was a WWII Navy Vet, he served from September 13, 1944 to June 19, 1946. He always enjoyed his time on the water fishing, being outdoors camping, and going dancing. You could find him outdoors feeding the birds and many other animals. Hassel has been apart of the Monahans community for 60 years and worked for Halliburton for 33 years. He especially loved his family and friends and their time spent together.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Eloise Hawkins, parents; Virgil Hawkins and wife Elizabeth, and one sister; Elizabeth Smith.

Hassel is survived by his loving son; Wesley Hawkins and wife Lorna of Monahans, Texas, daughter; Tracey Hawkins Crozier and husband Dennis of Houston, Texas, grandchildren; Laura Crozier Flood of Katy, Texas, Corey Wayne Hawkins of Garland, Texas, Reanna Crozier Stanley of Magnolia, Texas, Brady Kyle Hawkins of Odessa, Texas, great grandchildren; Brayden Hawkins, Aliana Hawkins, Mikey Hawkins, Jonas Flood, Micah Flood, Ellie Hawkins, Eva Flood, Audrey Flood, Nathan Stanley, and William Stanley.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Southside Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Joshua Rieff officiating.
