Herbert "Zeke" Huffty, Jr., 81, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Odessa, TX, surrounded by his wife and children.

There will be a viewing from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. He will be lying in state at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2 PM at Crossroads Fellowship - Odessa Campus with Griffin Jones officiating.

Zeke was born in Kilbourne, Louisiana to Herbert & Shirley Huffty on April 9, 1934. He went to school at Kilbourne High through the 10th grade. He moved to Odessa in 1953 and married Geneva Lou McKay on March 19, 1967 in Odessa. The majority of his oil field career was spent with Dale Meyer Trucking. He was a veteran and served in the U. S. Army. He was a longtime member of Crossroads Fellowship, where he served for many years as a greeter.

Zeke was a hard worker and didn't retire until he was 80. He enjoyed fishing, going to the lake and cooking for family and friends.

Zeke was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Shirley Huffty; and brother, Willie Lee Huffty.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Huffty; children, Stanley Huffty and wife, Amy, Kim Phillips and husband Brian, and Rodney Huffty and wife Kristen; brothers, Jimmy Huffty and wife Lawanda and Gerald Huffty and wife Claudine; grandchildren, Aaron Huffty, Kayla Phillips, Karissa Huffty, Kelsy Huffty, Ashley Phillips, Kally Huffty, Kacey Huffty, and Reagan Huffty; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in honor of Zeke Huffty to Young Life of Greater OKC, 2933 West Hefner Rd, OKC, OK 73120; Cornerstone Church, PO Box 1390, Monahans, TX 79756; or Student Ministries of Crossroads Fellowship, 6901 E State Hwy 191, Odessa, TX 79762.
