Jose Felipe Vela, 60, of Monahans, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1954 in Monahans to Daniel and Paula (Ibarra) Vela, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Paula Vela, Sr.; and brother, Xavier (Harvey) Vela.
Jose is survived by his sons, Jose Felipe Vela, Jr. of Rockwall, Adam Vela of Grand Prairie, and Nicholas Vela of Irving; brothers, Robert Vela and Danny Vela, Jr.; sisters, Ninfa Juanita Vela, Lydia V. Hopper, Frances V. Gibour, Belen V. Finley, Viola Rodriguez, and Dianna V. Vicente; and 7 grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 7 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11 AM at St. John Catholic Church.
