Julia Segura Hinojos

Julia Segura Hinojos, 82 years old, of Monahans, passed away on May 12, 2026, at home in Monahans.

Julia was born in San Antonio del Bravo, Mexico, to Gregorio and Micaela Segura on July 30, 1943.

Julia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be remembered for her kind heart and the love she shared with those around her. She worked as a seamstress for many years and took great pride in her work. In her free time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles, working word searches, cooking for her family, and spending time with her beloved cats. She found joy in life’s simple moments and treasured every moment spent with her family and friends. Those who came to the home she and her husband built, knew they would be accepted, listened to without judgment, loved, and fed!

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church. Mass will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers are as follows: Sammy Hinojos, Adrian Carlos, Aidan Carlos, Jorge Segura, Hugo Segura, Lionel Segura, and Raul Segura Jr.

Julia is preceded in death by her father, Gregorio Segura; her mother, Micaela Prieto Segura; her brothers, Juan Prieto and Raul Segura; and her sister, Lilia Jurado.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Isela Hinojos Agundis; her son, Sammy Hinojos; and her daughter, Irma Hinojos Carlos; her brother, Ismael Segura; her sisters, Rosa Vela, Yolanda Martinez, and Angela Porras; her grandchildren, Savannah Hinojos, Alessi Reina Agundis, Sammy Scott Hinojos, Shelbie Hinojos, Adrian Carlos, and Aidan Carlos; along with a host of extended family and friends.
