Lawrence Alvin Wester, Sr., 95, born on January 19, 1931, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, and lived a life devoted to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
There will be a Masonic Graveside Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Wester, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Stratton Davis, and his four siblings, W.A. Wester, Margaret, Maurice, and Maurine.
He is survived by his children: Janet Thackerson (Troy), Doris Wester, Lawrence A. “Buddy” Wester, Jr. (Linda), Sherryl Lewelling (Ricky), and Terri Howard (Ronnie).
Lawrence was a proud grandfather to Billy Thackerson, Becky Hanna, Denise Church, Nathan Davis, Lawrence A. Wester III, Ashley Umana, Cindy Hopkins, Laura Crouch, Crystalin McCoy, Brenna Kidd, Melissa Kasper, and Seth Howard. He was also blessed with 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.
Lawrence will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, devotion to family, and the love he shared throughout his life. His legacy lives on through the generations of family who were fortunate to know and love him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mack and Lindy Garrett, Jayce, Loni, Mikaela, Ariana, Jasmin, Denise, Cherish, Wendy, and Frankie at Premier Resort Assisted Living and Memory Care for the exceptional care, love, and compassion shown to our father. We also wish to thank his private caregivers, Anyce, Carolyn, and Ashley, for their kindness, dedication, and support.
Lawrence’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
