Manuel Esparza

It is with great sadness that the family of Manuel Rey Esparza announce his passing after a lengthy illness, on August 14, 2018, at the age of 91 years.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Roman, Sr. and Genoveva Esparza, sister Ofelia Martinez, brother Roman Esparza, Jr., nephews Adolfo Tovar and Michael Esparza.

Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Elisa Costelo Esparza and his children, Yolanda Sustaita (Raul), Miguel Esparza (Yolanda), Hector Esparza (Kathy), Yvonne Carrillo (Sergio), Aldo Esparza, Yvette Ellis (Terry), and Elaine Wooten (Damian). Manuel was not only a grandfather but a father to many of his 16 grandchildren, Veronica, Lisa, Michael, Christopher, Steven, Holly, Andrea, Melinda, Angela, Ashton, Thomas, Driana, Jensen, David, Alex and Anna, and his 22 great grandchildren, his brothers Cruz, Salvador, Ernest, Rudy, Edmund, Ricardo and Edward, his sisters Belia Tovar, Virginia Torres, and Amelia Luna.

Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2018 at St. John the Apostle Evangelist Catholic Church. A Mass in memory of Manuel will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Evangelist Catholic Church, 501 S. Ike, Monahans, TX 79756. Burial will follow at the Monahans Cemetery with Father Allan Alaka officiating.
