Manuela Gonzales

Manuela Gonzales, 95 of Monahans, died Sunday afternoon March 26, 2017 at Ward Memorial Hospital. She was born April 12, 1921 in Barstow, Texas to Margarita and Anselmo Gonzales. She was raised in Barstow and later moved to Big Spring where she met Asencion Mendoza Gonzales they were married in Big Spring on July 29, 1937. They lived in Grandfalls prior to moving to Monahans in 1942. She was longtime member of St John's Evangelist Catholic Church where she was a member of Sacred Heart Society and Cursillistas. Mr. Gonzales died April 21, 1973.
Preceded in death by her husband Asencion, son, Anastacio Gonzales; daughters, Felis Medina and Margarita Quintela; grandson, Antonio Gonzales; parents, Margarita and Anselmo Gonzales; brothers, Bartolo and Ismael Gonzales; sisters, Lucas Medrano, Josefa Gonzales, Dominga Hernandez, Josefa J. Gonzales. Son-in-law, Isabel Quintela.
Survivors include her daughters Beatrice Chavez and husband Robert of Monahans and Lilly Rodriguez of Midland. Grandsons, Jonathan Chavez of Monahans, Benny Ray Medina and wife Ann Marie of Montgomery, AL, David L. Medina and wife Rachel of San Angelo, Ruben Medina and wife Staci of Duncanville, TX, Russell Dobbs and wife Megan of Tampa, FL, Jimmie Dobbs and Ricky Dobbs of Springdale, AR.
10 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild.
