Obituary

Marcos Antonio Ramirez, 26, of Monahans, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2026. He was born on February 18, 2000, in Monahans, Texas, to Jose Antonio Ramirez Jr. and Maribel Soto.

Marcos was a hardworking young man who worked as a pumper in the oilfield. More than anything, Marcos treasured the time he spent with his family. He especially enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting pocketknives, and gathering everyone together for cookouts. Holidays held a special place in his heart, particularly Christmas, and he loved any occasion that brought his family together. Some of the simplest moments spent surrounded by those he loved became his most treasured memories.

Marcos was a loving father to his three children, Octavia Ramirez, Elena Ramirez, and Mateo Ramirez. His children were a great source of love and joy in his life, and the memories they shared with their father will forever remain close to their hearts.

Marcos is preceded in death by his father, Jose Antonio Ramirez, Jr.

Marcos is survived by his loving wife, Tabetha Reed; his children, Octavia Ramirez, Elena Ramirez, and Mateo Ramirez; his mother, Maribel Soto Ramirez; his siblings, Dominic Casarez, Raquel Ramirez and partner, Kendra Stafford, Jose “Chito” Ramirez III and partner, Ashley Rivas, Cheyenne Casarez, Alexis Ramirez and partner, David Noyola; nephew and nieces, Rowen Casarez, Rory Casarez, Lailah Villa, Mya Garcia, Adalee Zavala, Elijah Moncibaias, Gabriella Moncibaias, Ariella Noyola, and Renesmay Noyola; extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Justin Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Omar Ramirez, Arnulfo Jr. Ramirez, Jose “Chito” Ramirez, Dominic Casarez, Christopher Anaya, Orlando Anaya, Ambrioso Ramirez, and Arnulfo Ramirez Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cheyenne Casarez, Raquel Ramirez, and Alexis Ramirez.

Marcos will be remembered for his love of family, the happiness he found in the outdoors, and the memories made around cookouts, holidays, and family gatherings. Though his life was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
