Michael Wade Harbin

July 12, 1951 — December 3, 2025

Monahans, Texas

Michael W. Harbin, 74, of Monahans, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Monahans.

Mike was born in El Paso, Texas, to Wade and Norma Jean Harbin on July 12, 1951. He graduated from Bel Air High School in 1969 and attended the University of Texas at El Paso before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1970, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He married Sharla Gayle Morgan on June 5, 1971.

Following Mike’s Air Force service, he relocated to Monahans, Texas, where he began his oilfield career working for Halliburton. He advanced through the ranks to what was perhaps his true passion as a drilling foreman, drilling wells throughout West Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Utah. Later in his career, he acquired Flo-Test, which he operated until his retirement. During retirement, Mike enjoyed flying, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Norma Jean Harbin.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sharla Harbin; sons David Harbin (wife, Amy) and Jason Harbin (wife, Georgianna); sister, Phyllis Holley; and grandchildren, Grady and Ethan.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
