Hunts, Texas
Wednesday
Monahans Memorial Cemetery
Starts at 10:00 am (Central time)
Patricia Ann Vaught Finley of Monahans & Kerrville passed peacefully to the best realm ever on August 22, 2026, in Kerrville. Pat was born in Colorado City, Texas to Gerstle Bennett Vaught & Ola Faye Bertram Vaught. She was raised excellently & graduated well there. She married in 1953 to Charles Don Finley, then proceeded to show the world how to be a most excellent wife for over 40 years. She worked tirelessly for the Ward County Clerks' Office as a clerk & elected official for four decades.
She was known in large cities & small by her peers & was chosen in 1991 as Outstanding Texas County Clerk. She remained hugely popular in Monahans because of her consistent kindness to all she met & continued to quietly serve her community in many places of service, decade after decade & was awarded Outstanding Citizen in 1981. She reluctantly moved to her Kerrville cabin built for her by her best son-in-law, Robert. She resided in Kerrville, surrounded by her family fan club. Pat is survived by her only daughter, R'Evelyn Finley Dameron & Robert, her two doting granddaughters, Rachel Ann Childers & Rohni Shea Phoenix, & her favorite sister, June Driggers from Granbury.
Graveside services will be at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chris Powell officiating.
Pat didn't like flowers because "they die" & hated to water plants, the family has requested any memorial kindnesses be fielded to Monahans' First Baptist children's choir. Rejoice with us that because of Jesus, she is at last--Home free!
