In Loving Memory of Patsy Clifton “P.C.” McFarlin
December 14, 1934 – October 9, 2026
Patsy Clifton “P.C.” McFarlin was born on December 14, 1934, in Buffalo Gap, Texas. He was a man from a different generation, one of those tough, hardworking men they just don't seem to make anymore. Strong-willed, stubborn as they come, and never afraid of a hard day's work, P.C. lived with grit, determination, and a heart much bigger than he often let on.
On June 14, 1957, he married the love of his life, Murray Lee, affectionately known as “Pinkie.” Together, they shared 69 years of marriage rooted in love, faith, and devotion. P.C. had a wild streak, too, riding bareback broncs in his younger years, much to Pinkie's disapproval. But once P.C. made up his mind, there wasn't much that could change it, not even Pinkie!
With their own hands, P.C. and Pinkie built their home in Monahans, Texas, where they raised their family and welcomed generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It became a place filled with memories, laughter, and countless hours hammering nails in Papa's shop.
P.C. proudly served in the United States Army before a long career with TXU Electric. He could build or fix anything. Retirement never meant slowing down. Whether welding trailers, building model airplanes, or tinkering in his shop, there was always another project waiting.
For his grandchildren, Papa's greatest creations were the memories he made with them. Homemade zip lines, trailer rides behind the four-wheeler, annual fishing trips, and adventures that made their parents nervous were all part of growing up with Papa. His ornery side was just as memorable. Few walked through his door without wondering what trick he had waiting behind that mischievous grin.
Above all, P.C.'s life was grounded in his faith in God. He faithfully served his church, mentored young men through the Royal Ambassadors program, and sang alongside Pinkie in the church choir. His greatest legacy was not what he built with his hands, but the faith he lived and the family he raised.
P.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy Dee McFarlin and Jewell Anna Howard; brothers Carlton Dodson, Ricky Dee McFarlin, and Joe Pat McFarlin; and son-in-law, Alan Harris. He is survived by his wife, Murray Lee McFarlin; children, Julie Harris and Kirk McFarlin; sister, Bobbey Helen Rush; five grandchildren, Allison Lewallen, Kristen Collins, Aaron Harris, Brian Harris, and Andrew Harris; and numerous great-grandchildren.
P.C. was tough until the end, and those who loved him wouldn't have had him any other way. The hands that spent a lifetime working, building, fixing, and providing have finally found their rest. His family finds comfort knowing his work here is finished, and he has finally made it home.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant ... enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
