Pauline Humpries

August 28, 1916 — June 24, 2015

Pauline "Polly" Marie Humphries, 98, of Monahans, passed away in her sleep Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1916 in Valley Wells, TX to William and Sara O'Brien.

She had lived in Monahans since 2010 but was a long time resident of Northeast El Paso and later in Odessa. A kind hearted woman who loved her family very much, she trusted God to the fullest. Although a current member of Mission Dorado Baptist Church of Odessa, she was a charter member of Mountain View Baptist Church of El Paso. In earlier times she was active in all aspects of church life but age slowed her very much.

She is survived by her husband, Buford Humphries; 4 stepchildren and their families, Harrison Humphries, Betty Turner, and Barbara Knott, all of Monahans, and Patricia Hoyt of San Ramon, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Though married 3 previous times, she had no children of her own, but was especially close to her grandnephew, Eric Wylie of College Station, TX.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 2 - 8 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11 AM at Mission Dorado Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Bratcher officiating. Private burial will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Odessa or El Paso churches.
