Raul Soto Rodriguez

Raul Soto Rodriguez, 88, of Monahans, Texas, passed away on June 16, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Raul was born in La Rosita Coahuila, Mexico, on February 18, 1937, to Timoteo Rodriguez and Angelica Soto Rodriguez.

Raul lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love for his family, hard work, and a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed tending to his garden, caring for animals, and spending time with his loved ones. For many years, he worked in the oil field, and in his later years, Raul became known around town for his love of lawn care, offering his services to families throughout the community. His green thumb, humor, and caring nature made him a beloved figure to all who knew him.

Raul was a joyful and generous soul who always made those around him laugh. He had a special way of brightening even the darkest of days, often telling jokes and making sure that no one ever felt sad. He was an animal lover, particularly fond of horses, and he found peace riding them. He also had a love for good food, never being a picky eater, and was especially fond of ice cream and his beloved Dr. Pepper.

Raul is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Ibarra Rodriguez, and his children, Raul Rodriguez, Jr., Timoteo Rodriguez, Aurora Garza, Elsa Ontiveros and husband, Juan, Lluvia Rodriguez, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; sister, Olga Rodriguez Vasquez; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Timoteo and Anjelica Soto Rodriguez; brothers, Fidencio Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez; sisters, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Virginia Rodriguez, Fidelia Rodriguez, and Lydia Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held at Harkey Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A prayer service will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Raul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
