Raymond Worth Day

May 24, 1963 — August 31, 2025

Raymond Worth Day, 62, of Monahans, Texas went to be with our Lord on August 31, 2025 after a lengthy illness.

Ray was born in Crane, Texas on May 24, 1963 to Peggy Cople Teague Day and Kenneth Worth Day.

Ray was raised in Kermit, Texas and graduated from Kermit High School. Ray married his beloved wife Cathy Louise Piercey in 1982. He went to work in the grocery business at the age of 15 and was involved in that business for approximately 30 years. Ray had a secondary career as a truck driver for many years. Ray spent many years serving his community through various clubs and organizations. He had a deep love for his children and enjoyed coaching them in baseball and soccer. He also enjoyed playing video games with his children, and played tennis and golf for as long as his health allowed. Ray was a longtime sports enthusiast until his sister-in-law, Linda Erp, introduced him to NASCAR, and he became a diehard fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife Cathy Day; his son, Thomas Day, of Monahans, Texas; his daughter, Stephanie Dean and husband Warren of Burleson, Texas; son Ryan Day and wife Jessi Rose of Midland, Texas; brother Kenneth Day and wife Jonni of Arkansas; sister Lynn Widner of Crowley, Texas; his grandchildren Amelia, Margaret, Kelli, Jordan, Breanna, and Anslee; and his 4 great-granchildren and those he considered his children and grandchildren. Ray is also survived by his aunt, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, sister and brothers-in-law; and his many beloved cousins whom he enjoyed staying in contact with over the years.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents Peggy Cople Teague Day and Kenneth Worth Day; his sister April Day McCombs; and his brother-in law Terry Widner.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. David Davison, UT Southwestern Staff, Star Hospice staff, and Monahans emergency personnel who so lovingly attended him.
