Rena Naomi Cooley, 91, passed away in Monahans, Texas on August 5, 2019. Rena was born in Polar, Texas to Raymond Pylant and Stella Morris Pylant on March 15, 1928. She married her U.S. Army husband Clyde Cooley on June 5, 1980 in Sweetwater, Texas.
Rena and Clyde were long time and faithful members of Cornerstone Church, where they served in many capacities. Rena was a homemaker, mom, and ‘Memaw’ to many. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking everyone’s favorite meal.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Clyde Cooley, sons; Ray Burt Sellars, Randy Collins, brother; Boyd Pylant, and sister; Kay Smith.
Rena is survived by her loving grandson and care giver; Richard Sellars, daughter; Lois Bridgeman and husband Steven of Oklahoma, son; Dennis Sellars and wife Johny Faye of Snyder, Texas, brother; Marshal Pylant and wife Virginia of Vernon, Texas, sister; Darlene Terry and husband Mike of Snyder, Texas, sister-in-law: Jean Pylant, six grandchildren; Diane Hammon, Spencer Bennett, Richard Sellars, Kim Wright, Jennifer Smith, Randy Sellars eleven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shay Franks, Aaron Huffty, Lenny Hernandez, Keelan Smith, Dancen Doty, Bryce Doty. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Frederick, and Kevin Lucky.
Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2019 at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Cornerstone Church in Monahans, Texas with Pastor Stan Huffty and Pastor Preston Plemons officiating, burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
