Robert Venegas

Robert Venegas, 49, of Monahans, passed away on April 16, 2018 in Monahans.
Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. John's Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Allan Alaka officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Robert was born in Monahans, TX to Elijio and Mary Venegas on September 2, 1968. He was a graduate from Monahans High. He was employed at Garland Pumping and Roustabout. At a young age he worked with his Grandfather at his place of business the Hwy 80 Radiator Shop then went on and worked for many years as a Correctional Officer for the West Texas State School and was also a CO at the Reeves County Detention Center. In his free time, he was part of the M&M Posse, which was his uncles DJ business. Robert was a gentle giant with many friends and loved his family with all of his heart. He loved to watch his little cousins play sports and was their number one fan. Robert will be missed very dearly, and his memories will be with us all.
Robert is preceded in death by his Grandfather Albert "Tito" Muniz, Grandparents Grafido and Paula Venegas and Great-nephew Brien Albert Zozaya.
Robert is survived by his parents Elijio and Mary Venegas of Monahans, brother Lieutenant Colonel Elijio Joe Venegas Jr and wife Susan of Stuttgart, Germany, Grandmother Alice Muniz of Monahans, Nephews Christopher (Orlando,FL), Stephen (Midland, TX), Senior Airman Michael (Jessica) Venegas (South Carolina) , Nieces Crystal (Bryan) Valenzuela (Phoenix, AZ) and Cassandra Venegas (Orlando, FL) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Lieutenant Colonel Elijio Joe Venegas Jr., Christopher Venegas, Stephen Venegas, Senior Airman Michael Venegas, Mario Rios and Derik Morales.
