On August 7,1932, in the city of Santa Rita, Texas, a baby boy was born to Jay and Lillie Brown. They named him Roy Charles Brown. He was the third child.
Roy accepted Christ into his life at an early age. Roy completed his elementary school years at Dunbar school in McCamey Texas.
In 1953, Roy was united in holy matrimony to Eula Mae Washington. To that union, five children were born. In 1968, Roy was united in holy matrimony to Altha Mae Ellis. To that union no children were born but included 3 stepsons.
Roy raised four of his grandchildren, Tashia, Demetrius, Toya, and Kayla.
Roy started his career at an early age to help around the house. He started working at Dow Oil Company at 14 years of age. He started by cleaning the yard, later became one of the truck drivers. He was one of the first African Americans to work driving 18 wheelers for Oil Well Service of West Texas.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Gunner.
Roy made his transition into the arms of our heavenly father, who loved him the most, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 am.
