Sherrie Lou Smith Lee, 90, of Monahans, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

Born October 20, 1935, in Pratt, Kansas, to Joseph Francis Smith and Wilma Thurley Smith, Sherrie lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the countless lives she touched throughout her 90 years.

She married H.A. Lee in 1954 and soon after started their family. In 1963, they moved their family to Monahans, and in 1969 opened their own CPA office, where Sherrie worked alongside her husband. In 2004, the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family. After H.A.’s death in 2005, she continued working every day with her son at the office until she retired at the age of 86.

She is survived by her son, Mike Lee and wife Conda; her daughter, Jennifer Swarb and husband Steve; her grandchildren, Danielle Lee, Tyler Lee and wife Anita, Brandon Lee and wife Geneva, Josh Swarb and wife Anslee, and Candace Barnett and husband Bandi; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Jaycie Lewis, Hayley and Lucas Pardue, Caden and Avery Lee, Caleb, Madison, and Jaxon Lee; Nathan, Karlee, Bradley, and Brayden Swarb; and Baze, Anson, and Henley Barnett.

She is also survived by her siblings, older sister Joanna Criswell, younger brother Daniel Smith, and baby sister Rebecca Francis, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Sherrie is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 50 years, H.A. Lee Jr.; her beloved grandson, Nathan Swarb; and her parents, Joseph and Thurley Smith.

Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every gathering, every visit, and every opportunity to celebrate the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will live on through each of them.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 3rd and Dwight Church of Christ, with graveside services to follow at Monahans Cemetery.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing Sherrie leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a legacy that will continue through the generations she loved so deeply. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
