Sheryl Lynn Villa

September 2, 1974 — October 27, 2025

Monahans, Texas

One of the most beautiful souls you could have ever met, Sheryl Lynn Villa, 51, of Monahans, Texas, was welcomed into Heaven by our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 2, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, to Trinidad Benjamin Rubio and Yolanda Coronado Calzada.

Sheryl graduated from Sanderson High School and shortly after moved to Monahans where she met the love of her life, Peter Villa. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, devotion, and memories that will last a lifetime. Her greatest joy came from being a mother to her daughters — each of whom was the light of her world.

At 18, Sheryl went to work for visiting nurses of Del Rio – Monahans branch, when she received her certificate for Dental Assistant, she went to work for Dr. Andino for 10 years. She also worked for Dr. Sara Siruta in Odessa for 12 years when she decided she could no longer travel for work; this is when she made the hardest decision in leaving a career she loved so much and started working for Harkey Funeral Home.

Sheryl had such a free spirit and a heart as bold as her laughter. She loved to dance, sing, and never missed a chance to make others smile. Known for her playful sense of humor and her love of conversation, she could strike up a chat with anyone and leave them feeling like an old friend. She loved cheering for the Green Bay Packers, keeping her toenails polished in Caribbean blue, making sure to check on her mom, Yolanda, 2 to 3 times a day —details her family will always cherish. She adored taking selfies, storm chasing, and spending time with family and friends. She was quick to laugh, even quicker to lend a hand, and had a unique way of making any room brighter just by being in it. She deeply loved her dog, Maddie, who was her faithful companion through everything.

Sheryl is preceded in death by her father’s, Trinidad “Benny” Rubio and Pat Connelly; her brother, Javier “Jay” Rubio; her maternal grandparents, Antonio and Eldimira Calzada; her paternal grandparents, Delfina and Pete Vianes; her aunt and uncle, Richard and Josie Hernandez; her uncle, Tony Calzada; her sister-in-law, Alma Walker; her cousin, John Adauto; and her beloved fur baby, Maddie.

She is survived by her best friend and her loving husband, Pedro Manuel Villa; her daughters, Ariana Ybarra, Eva Villa, Lailah Villa, Yvette Villa and daughter in law, Klaya Anderson; her mother, Yolanda Connelly; her brother, Rene Rubio and wife, Laura; 6 grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home, with the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Joe.

Pallbearers will be Liza Cruz, Anna Salazar, Hollie Stout, Heather Gonzales, Freida Cooper, and Jasmin Ponce
