Socorro Velasquez

Socorro Porras Velasquez, passed away, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 in Midland, Texas. She was born on April 10, 1943 to Manuel and Lupe "Lujan" Porras in Grandfalls, Texas. Socorro married her husband Jose P Velasquez February 2, 1973 in Midland, Texas.

Socorro was a great cook, nurses aid, and the owner and operator of J&J Burrito Express.

She is survived by her husband Jose P Velasquez, one son, John Velasquez of Monahans, Texas, one daughter, Jennifer Recio and husband Benji of Odessa, Texas, two sisters, Rita Morales and husband Demesio of Roswell, New Mexico, Belen Ogden of Newport Richy, Florida, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Socorro is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joe G. Velasquez, two brothers Jesus Porras, Manuel Porras, and one sister, Romona Ochoa.
