Tex Stafford, 78, peacefully passed away on June 10, 2024, in Monahans, Texas. Tex was born in Clarksville, Texas to Earl and Ruby Stafford on February 8, 1946.
Tex loved old country music, particularly the tunes of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. His passion for western movies and his talent for playing the guitar and singing were widely admired by those who were fortunate to know him.
Tex is proceeded in death by his father, Earl Stafford; mother, Ruby Robinson Stafford; wife, Carolyn Guynes Stafford; sister, Anna Bell Morris; and brother, Ted Stafford.
Tex is survived by his two children, Laura Lee Willhelm and Cleta DeAnn Kelly; grandchildren, John Paul Willhelm and wife, Tiffany, Jennifer Nicole Carbajal and husband, Ben, Kendra Danielle Stafford, Braden Erik Stafford; great grandkids, Olivia Jane Carbajal, Lindia Mae Carbajal, Mya Elayna Garcia, and Adalee Mackenzie Zavala; siblings, Rex Stafford, Lillie Craft, Betty Ann Stafford-White, Roger Stafford, Shawn Stafford, and Shelley Hawthorne.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Harkey Funeral Home. A funeral service in honor of Tex's life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Wickett with Pastor Bill Clayton officiating. Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, Texas.
Tex will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his love for music, movies, and cherished moments with loved ones live on in our hearts forever.
