Virginia “Ginny” Ann Pettiet Moore, 73, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ginny was born on September 6, 1952, to Wilburn Henry Pettiet and Mary Virginia Harris Greer. She was also blessed with a devoted stepfather, Jesse Muril “Cotton” Greer (deceased). She is survived by her loving husband, John Moore of Mesquite, Texas; sisters Barbara Carol Rigsby and Martha Ellen Schlimgen; and nieces Kristi Lynn Callison, Shelly Marie Morales, Marci Ann Phelps, and Kelli Moore Thompson, and countless other nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Lee Pettiet (2005), and nephew, Stephen Paul Quinney.
Ginny graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in Business Accounting and Telecommunications. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and joyful spirit—she truly never met a stranger. Her faith guided her life, and she found great purpose in serving through her church, participating in mission trips, mentoring youth, and sharing her voice or playing her flute in the choir.
A lover of animals, Ginny had a special affection for her dogs and could often be found crafting, cooking, or baking cookies to share with family and friends. Her warmth, creativity, and laughter touched everyone who knew her.
Ginny’s light will live on in every person she touched. In her memory, please consider a donation to Alzheimer’s research, and take a moment to do what she did best: make someone’s day a little brighter.
