Walter (Walt) Lee Simmons (96), of Odessa, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Odessa, Texas. Walter was born in Cortez, Colorado, to Walter Fielding Simmons and Mary Martindale Simmons on March 19, 1928. Walter graduated from Farmington High School in 1950. During his life, Walter served in the Army branch of the Military in transportation from 1951 to 1953 and worked at El Paso Products Company in Odessa, Texas, from 1957 to 1983. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter F. Simmons and Mary Simmons, and siblings Nola Scribner, Zula, Kenneth, Raymond, and Marvin Simmons. Walter is survived by a loving family, including his daughters Pamela Higginbotham of Grandfalls, Texas, and Terry Simmons of Farmington, New Mexico; grandchildren Tiffany Rojo of Midland, Texas, Toby Higginbotham of Odessa, Texas, and Joel Rojo; eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial and burial will be at 1:00 PM on June 1, 2024, at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls, Texas. David Tucker of Grandfalls Baptist Church will provide memorial services. The Family of Walter, united in grief, wishes to extend our sincere thanks to The Parks Assisted Living, Odessa, Texas, and Home Hospice, Odessa, Texas.
