Willy Ray Owens, 56, of Monahans, Texas, passed away on May 9, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on July 6, 1968, in Decatur, Texas, to Patricia Turner.

Willy graduated from the Texas State School of the Blind. A gifted and passionate musician, he taught himself to play the violin, guitar, piano, and drums entirely by ear — simply by listening to the sound. He also loved to sing and brought joy to many through his music.

Willy was a natural storyteller. Whether sharing tales from his own life or spinning fictional narratives, he captivated listeners with his vivid imagination and expressive voice. He was known for his pure spirit, positive attitude, and cheerful presence — someone who could brighten any room he entered.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Turner Hogg; Abb Gandy; his sisters, Dusty Ronning and her husband, Chad, and Shelley Diaz; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Willy is preceded in death by his stepfather, Mark Hogg; his grandmother, Mary Lee Turner; his grandfather and step-grandmother, John and Martha Turner; and his nephew, Landon Coulston.
