Elsie Vires, 82 years of Monahans, Texas, passed away on December 21, 2020 in Wickett, Texas. Elsie was born in Conran, Missouri to James and Verda Cawhorn on December 4, 1938.
Elsie was employed for 20 plus years at Ward Memorial Hospital in housekeeping. She always loved being with family. Elsie always had smile on her face, and she enjoy pointing her finger at all of the kids and grandkids, keeping them in line.
She is preceded in death by her parents; James and Verda Cawhorn, husband; Willie Vires, four sons; Marty Ray Vires, Carl “Bo” Vires, Gilbert Leroy Vires, Randy Lee Vires, and grandson; Cory Bo Vires.
Elsie is survived by her loving sisters; Phyllis Hall of Madea, California, Molly Price of Lilbourn, Missouri, many grandchildren; Amy Acosta and husband Jesse of Monahans, Texas, Shelly Kizziar and husband Lance of Odessa, Texas, Bubba Vires and wife Laura of Monahans, Texas, Kendra Losoya and husband Johnny of Odessa, Texas, Karen Lilley and husband Ron of Dripping Springs, Texas, Jeremy Vires and wife Amanda of McGregor, Texas, Lauren Vires wife of late Cory Vires of Monahans, Texas, Teresa Vires, Laura Bullock of Chandler, Texas, John Wayne Vires and wife Alyx of California, 18 great grandchildren; Jakolbey Acosta, Justin Acosta, Kayla Morgan, Nathan Kizziar, Bryson Speirs, Laramie Vires, Riley Vires, Taylor Losoya, Aubrey Losoya, Annabelle Bullock, Corbett Bullock, Cross Vires, Lanie Vires, Luke Vires, Castin Vires, Maybree Vires, and Braxton Vires.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Vires, Johnny Losoya, Jeremy Vires, Ron Lilley, Jakolbey Acosta, Justin Acosta, Nathan Kizziar, and Lenny Hernandez.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Harkey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Cornerstone Church with pastor Stan Huffty officiating, burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
