Emma Evalee Tinney Watkins-Ward, 93, passed away on August 15, 2021 in Midland, Texas. Emma was born on November 13, 1927 in Winters, Texas to James Author and Ida Mae Roberts Tinney. Emma married her first love Cecil Edgar Watkins on April 15, 1949 in Brownwood, Texas. After her husband passed away she found her love for James “Jack” Ward and they got married on January 1, 2002 in Monahans, Texas.
Emma enjoyed making quilts on the days she couldn’t be outside tending to her garden. Most commonly you could find her outside cleaning and maintaining her yard. Emma would always mention she would much rather be working outside than inside. She also enjoyed playing cards, and camping. One of her most joys in life was attending the yearly Tinney Family Reunion spending her time with her family and friends, sharing stories and laughter.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents; James and Ida Tinney, husbands; Cecil Edgar Watkins, James “Jack” Ward, brothers; Ira Lee Tinney, James Tinney, sisters; Opal Echols, Christine Davis, Mildred Thompson, Ollie Walker and Georgie Markham.
She is survived by her loving children; Cecil Dale Watkins and wife Teresa, James Ray Watkins and wife Angie, Randy Author Watkins, Sandra Faye Ferguson, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., August 21, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church located at 200 S. Ursila Street Monahans, Texas 79756 with David Klewer officiating, burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
