Ethel Lousie Moore Ramsey, age 90, of Monahans, Texas passed away on Sunday May 1, 2022, in Monahans, Texas.
Ethel was born in Austin, Texas to Leslie Mason Moore and Rena Bell Record on June 8, 1931.
Ethel attended high school up to the 11th grade. In her early age, she was employed by Robert and Barbara Orr and the Crozier family as a housekeeper and babysitter.
In her early twenties, she gave her life to Christ, and became a member of the Church of God and Christ and served a Sunday School teacher and a mother of the church. Her favorite song to sing in church was “It is no secret what God can do” and “I don’t feel no ways tired”. She truly loved serving The Lord and she imparted that in her children and grandchildren. Ethel loved to sew, and she loved to fish. She loved her family and above all she loved her God, the only true living God.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents Leslie Mason Moore and Rena Bell Record, husband, Howard Ramsey Jr., daughters Joyce Marie Roy, Ethelene Ramsey Jean-Louis, and sons Minister Bruce Ramsey Sr., and Michael Wayne Ramsey, sister Anna Dear Means, brothers Charles and Leslie Moore, and four grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her children James Earl Ramsey, David Lee (Wanda) of Denver, Colorado, Howard Ramsey III (Rosa) of Houston, Texas, Pauline Bequette, Carolyn Harris of Henderson, Nevada, Alberta Louise Cartwright, Barbara Kay (Richard) Covington of Monahans, Texas, Kenneth Juan (Jana) of Sweetwater, Texas, and Kathy (Chuck) Paxton of Georgia, and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Her services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 6,2022, at Faith Temple COGIC with Pastor Melton Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
