Evelyn Boggs

Heaven has gained another angel, Evelyn Boggs beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother & great- great-grandmother passed away on May 8th, 2022, at the age of 91.

Evelyn Barnes Boggs was born May 3rd, 1931, to O.W. (Pete) Barnes and Ollie Cowley Barnes in San Angelo Texas.  Her Senior year in High School her family moved to McCamey Tx.  Where she met the love of her life Donald Ray Boggs.  They were married on May 22,1949.  They moved around a lot in those first years of marriage and finally was able to settle in Monahans Tx. in 1959.  Evelyn loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great-great grandmother.  She loved being around her family, going on camping trips with them. She worked 2 years at Cone Jewelry but stopped working so that she could enjoy her grandchildren.  Evelyn loved God and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist church.  She enjoyed working with the children during VBS.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents O.W.  & Ollie Barnes and, husband of 62 years Donald Ray Boggs, sister Gaynell, brother Bernard Barnes, Sonny & Noveen Barnes, brother-in- law Johnny F. Boggs, Sisters-in-law Claudean Warren, & Brenda Boggs & grandson Jeremy Teeters.  She leaves behind her brother Wayne L. Barnes & wife Catherine, & sister-in-law Reba Boggs.

Evelyn was a mother to five children, Cindy Carter and husband Charles of Monahans, Johnny Boggs of Monahans, Donald Boggs and wife Carol of Odessa, David Boggs and wife Mary of Midland, and Nancy Winkler and husband Danny of Monahans.  The grandmother of 8 grandchildren.  Colby of Hobbs, Corey (Amanda)of Lubbock, Joseph (Christina)of San Angelo, Shanna of San Angelo, Daniel of Possum Kingdom, Bryan (Shannon)of Odessa, Micah (Chelsea) Monahans, & Stacie (Joshua) of Monahans.  She also leaves behind 16 great grandchildren, Colton, Candace, Genna, Caleb, James, Johnathan, Brianna (Skylar), Kaitlyn (Eloy), Justin, Paige (Allysia), Dakoda, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Hailey, Kinley & Kamille & 4 great, great grandchildren Rayleigh, Tatum, Brexley, & Swayze.  Numerous nephews, nieces & special friends

Pallbearers are Colby & Corey Carter, Micah Winkler, Joseph Reeves, Daniel Boggs, Bryan Teeters, & Joshua Bowman. Honorary pallbearers are Colton, Justin, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Caleb, James & Johnthan.

Visitation will be held Wednesday May 11th, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Harkey Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on May 12, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Southside Baptist Church Monahans Tx.  Pastor Joshua Rieff will be officiating the service with burial following at Monahans cemetery.
