Humberto “Chumbie” Salazar, 65, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

Chumbie was born on February 2, 1957 to his parents Benigno and Lucy Salazar in Monahans, Texas.

Chumbie grew up in Monahans and attended Monahans High School where he graduated in 1976. He moved to Odessa, Texas shortly after graduating and worked as a market manager for Albertson’s/United supermarket.

Chumbie is preceded in death by his parents; Benigno and Lucy Salazar, brothers, Ben Salazar, Abel Salazar along with a sister Ana Martinez.

Chumbie leaves behind his one and only son Nicholas Salazar, 5 grandsons; Anthony O’harrow, Aden Salazar, Juan Carlos, Elijah Salazar, and Kaleb Salazar one granddaughter Amaris Salazar, brother Oscar Salazar as well as sister, Diana Granado all of Monahans, Texas

Rosary will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 in the Harkey Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 PM. Memorial Service will take place at St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Father Joe officiating.
