Irma Huertas Ortiz was born to Jose and Ellie Huertas of Grandfalls in Monahans. She attended school in Grandfalls. She married Rick Ortiz, October 10, 1989. He was the love of her life. Irma has two sons, Christopher of Odessa and Justin of Houston. Irma worked at MWPISD as a Para-Professional. She loved her work-family especially the students she got to work with. Irma was a bundle of joy and had a contagious laugh that made everyone laugh. She loved and cared for everyone and was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a big caring heart. She loved the outdoors and camping with her husband Rick, especially fishing. She loved the Dallas Cowboys BUT especially Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Irma passed away very unexpectedly. She was only 57 years of age. She will be dearly missed. Irma was a friend, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother who did whatever it took to make room in her heart and family for anyone. In addition to her friends and family, Irma loved her dog Rocky, her doggie niece Zoe and her grand-dog Lucky.
Irma is survived by her husband Rick Ortiz, her parents Jose and Ellie Huertas, three brothers, Armando, Ricky and Barbara Huertas, and David. Several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, lifelong friends and three grandchildren.
On her husband side, Irma is survived by Ralph and Esther Ortiz, Hector and Ermelinda Ortiz, Mario Ortiz, Leroy Ortiz, Sylvia Ortiz, Rosemary and Benito Gonzales and 12 nieces and nephews.
Irma was such a light in this world and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to have crossed her path and lives she touched by her kindness and overall zest for life.
