We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Harkey Funeral Home
Norma Ann Garcia Day-Davis passed into the joyful presence of her Heavenly Father on August 22, 2022, after bravely battling a lengthy illness.
Norma was born on January 24, 1966 to Merardo and Margie Garcia. Norma grew to love music, and was a member of the Big Green Band throughout her high school years. Norma always surrounded herself with friends who made her smile, and always took the opportunity to laugh, even during difficult times. She worked her way through school, eventually becoming an R.N., a perfect career for someone with her caring energy. She settled into her life’s work at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, developing priceless friendships with her coworkers and helping patients heal with light and laughter.
Norma now rests in paradise along with her maternal and paternal grandparents, Santos Primera, Consuelo Primera, Ynes Garcia, and Manuela Garcia, her brother Merardo Garcia, Jr., and her nephew Steven Garcia. She is survived by her parents, Merardo Garcia Sr. and Margie Garcia, her son, Chris Day, her husband William Davis, and her sister, Kimberly Browning, along with a large extended family and many wonderful friends.
A viewing will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Monahans, TX with rosary to follow at 10:00 AM. A celebratory mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church also on August 25, 2022. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Norma’s family wishes to thank everyone and anyone who shared a laugh with Norma, who loved her and cared about her, as well as those who have supported us as we journey through this transition of living life without her, while cherishing our time with her and celebrating her life.
“Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it….white shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.” J.R.R. Tolkien
