Rose Brown

Rose Marie Brown 64 of Monahans, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

She was born to Conception and Simona Porras in Kermit on September 27, 1958.

Kermit was her home until she married the love of her life Lonnie Scott Brown. They moved to Monahans in 1990 where she attended Assembly of God and was involved in the youth fellowship. Rose participated in fund raising, as well as bake sales, summer camps so that she could be around her children, and she cooked anytime she was able. She was known as Momma Rose to many of the youth from the church as many of them have fond memories at her home eating and hanging out. She always had room for more at her table. To know Rose was to know a true friend, she always had a shoulder to lean on and arms for a hug.She loved Christmas so very much, it was her favorite holiday. She loved Christian music and journaling her prayers, she enjoyed arts and crafts, and sewing, she loved making quilts for those she loved. If she knew anyone wasn't going to have a Christmas she'd do what she could to get a gift for them or put boxes of food together for those who were in need, she absolutely loved to feed people and passed that on to her children as well.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents Concepcion and Simona Porras; her father in law Robert Edwin Brown;Her mother in law Annie Mae Brown; her Brother Ramon. Grandchildren Bridget and Casey Brown; Hope Kittley; a sister in law Judith Lara; Brother in laws Henry Carrasco; David Stephen;Ysidro Galvan;Gabriel Rodriguez, and her Coconut Orland Garcia who she had a very special bond with.

She is survived by her loving husband Lonnie Scott Brown who she shared more than 40 years with .Her son Scott Jr and Chasity Brown, daughter Dorothy and James Kittley, Doreen Elizabeth Harper, son Edwardo and Megan Parra, her grandchildren; Alexander Gaith and Thea Kittley, Jonah Matthew Gonzales who was more of a son to her, Shawn Parra, Preston Joziah Fairchild,Orion Liam Scott Fisher, Lily Regina Brown, Elena Rose Kittley, Gabriel Scott Kittley, Bryson Blake Oliphant, and a great grandson, Leonardo James Heath Kittley, sisters Elvira Porras, Sabina and Manuel Veiil, Lupe Rodriguez, Margarita Stephenson, Sylvia and Franklin Fuller, Connie and Oscar Garcia, Nancy Carrasco, Raquel Garcia , and Brother Leo Lara. Sister in law Linda and Harry Cooksey, Brother in law Thomas and Susan Brown, Brother in law Ronald Brown, and sister in law Melda Brown, and not named she was loved by her many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of summer breaks and countless days and nights at her home. There were never to many people around her she loved a crowd.

Rose will be greatly missed by all who loved her, she was part of the core in her family always happy to help when she know of a need. It was a gift from God she always had, and passed on to her children and grandchildren, the desire to help, she wanted everyone to succeed and was always proud of everyone for their success they had.
