Silvia Contreras

Silvia J. Contreras went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 3, 2020 in Austin, Texas.

Silvia was born October 14, 1957 in Monahans, Texas to her parents  Eliseo and Cuca Contreras.  Silvia lived in Monahans until she moved to Austin, Texas in 1986.

Silvia is survived by her brother Eliseo Contreras, Jr. of Monahans; her sisters Adelinda Gonzales of Odessa, and Erene Dominguez of Monahans; also 10 nieces and nephews, 16 great-nieces and nephews, and her one and only great-great niece, Trinity.

Silvia’s faith was so strong, and she was a very caring friend who enjoyed life to the fullest.  She always put her friends before herself.  She loved music and laughter, sharing stories and making memories.

Silvia had such a sweet spirit and cared deeply for her friends, especially Ofelia Subia of Austin, her long-time devoted and loving friend.  And she shared her love and heart with Spencer Freppon of Bastrop and his family. Spencer was especially dear to Silvia, much like the son she never had.

The Viewing will be Friday, August 7, noon-3 pm, with a Rosary from 3:00-4:00pm at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a graveside service Saturday, August 8 at 10:00 am., at Monahans Memorial Cemetery Attendees are asked to please respect social distancing and wear a mask.
