Our Queen, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and guiding light, Fatima Juarez Garcia, was welcomed into eternal rest on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.
Born on March 31, 1954, in Pecos, Texas, to Victor Juarez and Felia Juarez. Fatima was the matriarch—the glue that held us together. She was our peacemaker, our counselor, the one who reminded us to forgive, to love, and to carry on. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the mouthwatering whiff of homemade tortillas. There was nothing better than walking in, grabbing butter, and eating a fresh tortilla straight off her comal-a memory we will cherish forever.
Holidays at her house, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, were unforgettable. She was always the first one awake, preparing meals for the entire family, and the last one to go to bed after making sure everything was cleaned and everyone was cared for.
A devoted homemaker, Fatima found joy in caring for others. She loved camping, fishing, and wasn’t afraid to try her luck at the slot machines. She was also a faithful member, Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas where her faith served as a foundation of her life.
Fatima is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Garcia; her parents, Victor and Felia Juarez; her siblings, Hipolito Juarez, Victor Juarez Jr., and Danny Juarez.
She is survived by her daughters, Lorina Kaye Gomez and husband, Johnny, and Heather Garcia Gonzales; her brothers, Jose, Ismael, Israel, Benny, and Johnny Juarez; her sisters, Irene and Raquel Juarez; her grandchildren, Azlyan D. Dominguez and husband, John, Zaylan D. Gonzales, Jaylan Zaylee Marie Gomez, Jeffrey Gomez, John Gomez, and Heather Morales and husband, Johnny; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Mass will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Barstow Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Zaylan "Ziggy" Gonzales, John Dominguez, Isaiah Juarez, Victor “Chipo” Juarez, Teofilo “Buddy” Madrid III, and Ramon Mendoza.
